eh?
“I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there is no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.”
On Set with Narsha for Nail Up Magazine

Last night we posted some photos of Narsha for Nail Up! Magazine, and shortly thereafter Nate News posted an article with on set photos from the shoot of the Brown Eyed Girl.
‘Nail Up!’ is Korea’s first Nail magazine, and despite a busy schedule Narsha made time for the photo shoot. Right after performing on Inkigayo, Narsha came to the studio and transformed into various characters from Alice and Wonderland, like the cat, Queen, the mad hatter, and more! What do K-pop stars think of 2009?

A lot of things happened this year in the world of K-pop. Some of them good, some of them bad, some of them ugly with 100% purity. Korea’s Star News decided to interview some of our favorite K-pop stars to find out what they think about the year 2009. They sadly did not interview any celebrities that fall in the category of the bad and the ugly, but hey, good is the best, right?
Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls, who have again proved that they know how to shake it with Abracadabra and Sign, said:
“This is the year that BEG got upgraded. We got busier as we gained popularity but it was really fun. We also got the Female Group of the Year award for the first time since our debut. It was the most meaningful year for BEG”
SNSD, who enjoyed fame that came with their massive hits, said:
“2009 was the year that our wishes were granted. Not only did Gee and Say Your Wish(Genie) receive positive reactions, we also managed our first solo concert and Asian tour.”
Miss Park Gyuri of happy-go-lucky Kara said:
“It was the first year that we actually got an award, our efforts paid off this year. We gained a lot of fame overseas as well and I’m happy about that. We also started on individual projects. It was nice to get an opportunity to spread our names.”
Now onto the guys.
Hyun Joon, not Hyun Joong who has similar name but very different level of fame, of SS501 said:
“We learned about the preciousness of our team members as we did a lot of solo projects during the first half of the year. We also developed musically. It was all good except for the fact that we did not get to perform as 5 for a lot.”
Adorable SHINee made quite a bold statement:
“2009 was the year of us. With Juliette and Ring Ding Dong, we matured internally and externally. We also got to become closer to our fans and communicate through music.”
Last but not least, newcomers BEAST said:
“It was the year of new opportunity and amazing luck. We finally became artists. We began a new journey.”
And finally, you, allkpop readers. How did YOU find 2009? Personally, I had another painfully lonely year. If you are a female in the Greater Toronto Area who would like a Korean boyfriend, then please contact me. Do it. I know you want to.
8Eight’s first year end concert!

It’s been 2 years since 8Eight has debuted and they will be holding a year end concert for the very first time!
This group has been praised because of their amazing ability to sing. They were very successful this year due to songs, Without a Heart, Goodbye My Love, and 30 Minutes Ago, which all topped the charts. They have also been named “The group that isn’t jealous of idol bands” from many people, since idol bands have become mainstream in k-pop.
8Eight stated:
“Having a year end concert was our dream. We are happy that we can spend the last moments of this year with fans who love our music.”
The concert will start December 13th at the CGV Art Hall, and will be a “Winter Garden Relay Concert”. This means that 8Eight won’t be the only performers, they will have a single concert on December 13th, and then the lineup will change to Lee Hyun Woo, performing on the 19th ~ 20th, then to SpringSummerWinterFall performing on the 24th ~ 26th, then finally to Kim Hyung Joong, who will be performing on the 30th ~ 31st.
With a total of 500 seats, fans will be able to enjoy the Winter Garden Relay Concert in complete comfort, along with free coffee and cookies (what could possibly be better then that!).
At this concert, 8Eight will throw away their ballad status and party it up with upbeat rock and dance songs. They have not shown these types of performances to the public, so many are highly anticipating what they will bring to the table.
And if you are unfamiliar with 8Eight, check out this awesome performance:
